Stock Market Competition, Fall 2025

Event Description

The COB Create Your More® Wall Street Warrior is an undergraduate competition for students at Winona State University to demonstrate their stock selection skills. Sponsored by the College of Business and the WSU Foundation, participation is free and open to ALL undergraduates currently registered at WSU. Ten prizes totaling over $1,500 will be awarded to the winners...as well as bragging rights.

Competition Rules

Eligibility

Students may compete as individuals or in groups (but groups should only register once, and whoever registers the group will be the official participant). Only currently registered WSU undergraduate students are eligible to participate.

Registration

Participants may register and begin trading on Monday, Sept. 15th using the Registration Link (Password: COBCreate) on the Wall Street Survivor Website. You must use your WSU e-mail when regestering, and only one entry per student. The official name of the contest is "Create Your More® Stock Market Challenge (Fall25)"

Challenge Rules

Trading will end at 11:59 PM on Friday, Nov. 14th.

Winners will be determined by the value of their portfolios at the end of trading.

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony (Tuesday, Nov. 18th, 1:00 PM, Engagement Center, Somsen 108).

Trading Rules

Each participant will begin with a portfolio of $25,000 in (nominal) cash and may trade until the close of the contest.

Short selling and day trading are allowed (but trading on margin is not).

  • 1st Place:             $500
  • 2nd Place:           $400
  • 3rd Place:            $300
  • 4th Place:            $200
  • 5th Place:            $100
  • 6-8th Place:           $75
  • 9-10th Place:         $50

      Note: For non-PSEO students and non-graduating seniors, awards will be deposited as a scholarship in their student account.
